YMTiny tips: the difference between “Close” and “Hide” button

Do You notice that there are 2 (two) buttons You can use to close current/active chat window/page? The first one is the Hide button that located at bottom right corner, and the second one is Close button located at left down which accessible by pressing the Menu button (see picture).

At user exprience, both buttons seem to have a same function. In fact, they have a different action in how YMTiny treats current conversation data on the active chat window.

Close button closes current active window and clears any conversation within it. Meanwhile Hide button only closes the active window, without clearing the conversation in it. So, You may consider the Hide button as a button to minimize windows instead of a button to close them.

YMTiny tips: perbedaan tombol “Close” dan “Hide”

Apakah Anda memperhatikan bahwa ada 2 (dua) tombol yang bisa digunakan untuk menutup jendela/halaman (window) chat yang sedang aktif? Yang pertama adalah tombol Hide di pojok kanan bawah, dan yang kedua adalah tombol Close di kiri bawah yang bisa diakses setelah menekan tombol Menu (lihat gambar).

Bagi pengguna, mungkin kedua tombol ini memiliki fungsi yang sama. Namun sesungguhnya kedua tombol ini memiliki fungsi yang berbeda. Perbedaaannya terletak pada bagaimana program memperlakukan data percakapan yang ada pada jendela tersebut.

Tombol Hide berfungsi untuk menutup jendela chat yang sedang aktif sehingga pengguna bisa kembali ke jendela depan (messenger list) atau kembali ke jendela chat yang lainnya. Sedangkan tombol Close, selain memiliki fungsi yang sama dengan tombol Hide, namun juga menghapus data percakapan yang ada.

Setelah jendela di-Close, maka percakapan pada jendela tersebut akan hilang, berbeda dengan tombol Hide yang masih menyimpan percakapan sebelumnya.

YMTiny tips: switch between windows

YMTiny does not have a tabular menu to show current active chat windows yet. But it has shortcuts to easily switch between windows.

The shortcuts are “*” (star key) and “#” (pound key). You can use those keys to switch between active windows quickly, without returning back to the messenger list (front page). It works similar to the Alt-Tab combination on Microsoft Windows operating system.

YMTiny tips: pindah antar window

Cukup banyak pengguna yang mengeluhkan kalau YMTiny sulit digunakan pada saat bercakap (red. chat) dengan banyak teman. Ini karena YMTiny tidak memiliki menu tabulasi atas yang menampilkan daftar percakapan yang sedang aktif. Sehingga pengguna tersebut kembali lagi ke halaman awal (messenger list) untuk mencari teman yang dimaksud.

Sebenarnya YMTiny sudah menyediakan tombol shortcut untuk berpindah antar window (percakapan) yang sedang aktif (belum di”Close”). Sehingga tidak perlu kembali lagi ke halaman awal. Shortcut yang dimaksud adalah tombol bintang (*) dan pagar (#). Fungsi kedua tombol tersebut serupa dengan fungsi kombinasi tombol Alt+Tab pada sistem operasi Microsoft Windows.
